Membership Recognition Programs for District 61 in 2007-2008

In addition to the Toastmasters recognition, the District has often had additional incentive programs for membership, and this year is no different. Throughout this year, the District will have the following incentives and recognition for clubs and membership growth/renewal:

  • District 61 presents the Fast Track Contest from August 1 to 31, 2007. The club which has the highest percentage increase in new members in each category during the month of August will win a $30 voucher at the District Bookstore. Categories are: Less than 12 members; 12-19 members and 20 or more members.
    Winners:
    • Less  than 12 members - Smart City (4707)
    • 12 - 19 members - Watertown (8921)
    • 20 members or more -Canadair (4673); Nortel Ottawa (6425); McGill (4311)
  • Hold an Open House or Guest Night anytime during September 10-30 and your club may win a free Fall Conference registration voucher. To be eligible, please forward the LGM or PRO a copy of your club's publicity and share your advertising strategy.
    Winner: Concordia (3207)
  • During the Smedley Award program (August-September), each club will get one draw ticket for every five new members they get. On October 10, a draw will be held for a free Fall Conference registration voucher (or, if the winning club prefers, a $100 voucher at the District bookstore).
    Winner: Limestone City (3045)
  • Hold an Open House or Guest Night anytime during January 7-31 and your club may win a free Spring Conference registration voucher. To be eligible, please forward the LGM or PRO a copy of your club's publicity and share your advertising strategy.
    Winner: Parliament Hill (5441)
  • During the Talk Up Toastmasters Award program (February-March), each club will get one draw ticket for every five new members they get. On April 10, a draw will be held for a free Spring Conference registration voucher (or if the winning club prefers, a $100 voucher at the District bookstore)·
  • During the Beat the Clock Award program (May-June), each club will get one draw ticket for every five new members they get. On July 15, 2008 a draw will be held in each division for a $100 voucher at the District bookstore.)·
  • Membership renewal periods - As an incentive for clubs to get their semi-annual renewals in as quickly as possible, there will be draws as follows:
    • September 30 - a draw for one free Fall Conference registration from all clubs that have submitted their membership renewals for the Fall period.
      Winner: Québec (1838)
    • March 31 - a draw for one free Spring Conference registration from all clubs that have submitted their membership renewals for the Spring period.
  • Attention: For clubs that are under 20 members on August 1, 2007 and on February 1, 2008:

    • During the Smedley Award program, for each four new members the club signs up, they will receive an additional draw ticket over and above the ones mentioned above.
    • During the Talk Up Toastmasters Award program, for each four new members the club signs up, they will receive an additional draw ticket over and above the ones mentioned above.
  • District Governor Award
    • Each member that signs up three new members within the Toastmaster year will receive a special District Governor Award. This is in addition to the recognition by Toastmasters International in its Annual Membership Award program.
