The Unsung Hero Award

Volunteer organizations such as Toastmasters survive because of the selfless efforts of its members. While there are programs and other initiatives to formally recognize some of these efforts, frequently members do something for another member, the club or the district that benefits everyone. However, in many cases these members don't get recognized for their efforts, and all to often don't even expect to be recognized.

Have you seen such an act? Have you wished that member got some form of recognition but it never happened? This year, your District Governor is announcing the "Unsung Hero Award". This award has no rules. It may be given by any member to any other member for any reason you believe fit. It can be given informally, or you can find an occasion to present it formally at a club or district event.

Let's make sure that each member who freely offers something of him/herself gets some recognition for it. Complete the certificate on the screen by inserting their name on the award, print it and present it to them thus making that member feel special by saying "Others might not have noticed but I did and here is a small thank you for doing it."

Let's recognize our stars.
