Message from the Lieutenant Governor Education & Training (LGET)

Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

I am so excited to serve you this year as your Lt. Governor Education and Training. In this role, I am responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring every club and each member reaps the benefits of the Toastmasters educational program and become a Distinguished Club thereby maintaining a healthy environment, meeting members goals, ensuring that the Toastmasters program of speeches and leadership are being met and that club management is up-to-date.
  • Ensuring that every club shares the same Toastmasters mission

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every individual member has the opportunity to develop oral communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

  • Overseeing the district’s contests in Fall and Spring – these annual speech contests allow us to learn from top speakers in our Divisions.  These conferences offer all of us a chance to network, learn from great keynote speakers and workshop presenters and also become workshop presenters.
  • Ensure that all district officers and club officers are trained in their roles through the District officer training and the Training and Leadership Institute held twice a year.

Our website offers a wealth of information at your fingertips:  Visit it often www.tm61.org

If you have a question please give ‘voice’ to it and send it to me by email to beverley_miranda@yahoo.com or call me on 613-828-2863.  If you would like to connect with your Area Governor then please feel free to do so http://www.toastmastersdistrict61.org/eng/contactUs/offr.asp

Looking forward to serving you!
Beverley Miranda, DTM
